Shocking find! Inspection Photo of the Day

The electrical wires in this photo were live. If anyone would have touched them they would have been for a nasty surprise. Definitely a safety hazard. Good thing they had a home inspection!

John, I hope you didn't find out the hard way that the wires were live,

Wow! That could have turned out very badly. Thank god it didnt.

I hope you'll remember me if you learn of anyone moving to "The OC" and I will do the same!

Yikes, John!  That's a pretty scary thought.  What were these people thinking?  Good thing the buyers had an inspection done.

"I hope you didn't find out the hard way that the wires were live,"

Many (but not all) home inspectors carry a voltage sniffer (a device that indicates the presence of voltage). When I find abandoned wiring (like that in the OP's photo) I check it with my trusty voltage sniffer. You would be surprised at how many "abandoned" wires are still live.
